- Oh sure, you send me off on a Amelia is Emma Peel riff and turn out a classic like this.
- I see your game...Author's response
Sorry Pal; but I've been working on this chapter for hours, and, honestly, I wasn't sure how it would go over. I'm glad you like it.

Ah, you're already presenting another delightful chapter for us. You know you're spoiling everyone. In any case, I do like the approach Neville's taking in monitoring Dumbles' office and I wonder how long, if ever, it'll take Dumbles to find the charm. Now, having done that, I really love and appreciate the way Neville's being up front with Harry and Hermione and I suspect this is going to have some interesting ripple effects as time goes by. Meanwhile, I hope Snape's got an up-to-date will 'cause I ssupect he's going to have an "unfortunate demise" before too long, either due to the troll or a more agressive Fluffy.Author's response
I honestly don't know if Snape's will is up to date or not, besides, who would he leave his hair care products to? GRIN
And, yes, there will be quite a few ripples in the water going forward. I almost (almost) feel sorry for Lockhart GRIN

Oh, BTW, Seel'vor's bio says he's a 27-year-old male Brit. He's also got a good Yahoo group at Seelvorfanfiction.Author's response
Thanks, I'm already a member of the yahoo group; but I'm a member of so many I lost track of where I'd read the story.

Solid update. Harry and Hermione learned Occlumency pretty fast for a pair of firsties, but then again, they were motivated.
Looking forward to more.Author's response
very motivated; they wanted to know what Neville was hiding GRIN

Great start!
Original in that it's Neville who goes back with memories of an already lived life.
I must admit I look forward to see how they'll arrange any "petty murders" -- I guess Snape is a likely victim.
I'm am wondering though to which degree Neville will be able to step back and let Harry be this world's BoyWhoLived.
PS: Hope you'll update "Betrayal of the Phoenix" soon... and speaking of erotica, wouldn't mind a version of this story with that to -- perhaps were through Nevilles prodding and telling about their relationship in "his" world, Harry and Hermione gets of to an early start.
Keep up the great work!
Author's response
Thanks, glad you are enjoying it.
As for Betrayal, I do intend to update that, in fact, one of the things I'm hoping to accomplish with this story is to break through my writers block on Phoenix as well as some of my other stories.
However, I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you in one area. This story will remain a smut free zone. I'm writing this as an exercise for me to see if i can tell a complete story where the characters stay dressed the whole time.

Neville must have been very persuasive to get little miss Girl Guide to go so ruthless. I would agree that it's a solid part of Hermione's character, just not one easily engaged
"T"Author's response
Actually, even though it wasn't deliberate, he started the wheels turning the very first time he met her, with the conversation about bigots that Neville had with her Father, and Hermione had been thinking about the bigotry a lot since then. i just chose to have it happen off screen.

"The only thing is, you can't take anything the room creates outside of the room itself.”
That means, I take it, that when you leave the room, that nice pumpkin juice or water you drank disappears from your stomach, bloodstream, or bladder, wherever it has reached by now? Couldn't that REALLY mess with your blood chemistry and put you in the hospital wing, especially if you were low on electrolytes from sweating while practicing dueling, etc?
Not that I think it's a BIG point, but I don't like to see plot holes in such a good story.
And it IS excellent.
D.Author's response
Probably should have clarified that; what Neville was talking about, was things like books that that room created can be read there, but if you tried to take the book outside the room it would disappear.
Thanks for your feedback, and I'm glad you're enjoying this story.

Interesting start - Neville with a backbone! Certainly a different start to the usual second chance scenario. It will be interesting to see how much you diverge from canon.
Slightly disappointed that there will be little Dumble bashing - I cannot stand the old git and always like seeing him slapped down!Author's response
The first year, at least in a lot of areas, will be very similar to canon, simply because a lot of the pieces were in place before the Time/World jump. There will be several more differences 2d year; but 3rd year is where it's going to be very different.
Consider this; in Neville's original world; Harry was raised by his still living parents; there was never a betrayal (that they knew about) of the secret, so Neville has no foreknowledge about the events of 3rd year.
That is when it should get interesting GRIN

Totally amazing and very original. Loved how Neville was able to calmly slap down Snape and Dumbledore. Love a confident Snape. I do hope that the trio is able to figure out a way for the Dursley's to treat Harry better during the summer. Eagerly awaiting a update.Author's response
Thanks;
I was planning to update tonight, but, between massive computer problems; that have since been resolved, and having to work on my taxes today; I just haven't had the time.
I'm going to try and get something written tonight, though.

It’s refreshing to see Dumbledore being more proactive in his handling of Harry.
Also, I liked that Neville revealed the truth to Harry and Hermione. And the reasons for not telling Ron are very solid – and I’m not just saying that because I don’t like his character. Well, actually, one of the reasons I don’t like Ron is the same reason they don’t tell him the truth about Neville.
Author's response
Thanks, I'm trying to show an Albus who can learn from his mistakes, and be willing to work with Harry and Neville, instead of manipulating them.

by the way, have you been checking out my "Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Harem" that I started posting yesterday? I figured you would enjoy it, considering how much fun you have with Hermione and Luna in your Cracked Mirror story.
