What the hell is going on with Daphne? I can think only one reason why she did that, and that's her father being a SOB. Hope you bring them back, for Harry/Daphne is one of the most fun pairings to read!Author's response

Little disappointed in Harry for giving up on Daphne so easily. Not to say that his attitude is out of character for him, just that he should realize that it seems out of character for her (especially after her good-bye comment). I would guess that her father had something to do with the 'dear john' note.
On thing this does do is give Harry a chance to date a round a little so he has some more experience. Only problem I see is that I would think he might be a little gun shy and may need some time to get over this. If he doesn't end up back together with her quickly (because it was all Dad's doing), I would suggest using Neville and Hannah to push him to go out. This might also be a time for Hermione to repay the favor he did by busting into the head girl's room.
Otherwise it is well written, as usual, and I like the changes you have made since the drafted sections were circulated on Caer Azkaban.
Author's response
- Everyone seems to expect Harry to have stormed the Greengrass Castle with wand blazing.
- Think about Harry's life, he's gotten the sticky end of the stick, in this timeline for the last seven months, he's had a run of abnormally good luck. From Harry's POV, Daphne just wised up.Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Very interesting update. It's easy to see that Tonks will be featured in the forefront of at least a couple of upcoming chapters, but at what capacity? Should be good.
Daphne's 180 is clearly influenced, but it's quintessential Harry for him to react like he has.
Looking forward to more, particularly as I spot a possible Harry/Multi pairing on the horizon. Only time will tell, and I expect you'll make me like whatever (and whoever) you choose, if I don't already.Author's response
- No, Tonks stays the 'interesting character on the periphery of the story' she has been.
- Yes, and I agree, though many don't seem to.
- No, no multi. Harry's a one or none kind of guy.Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Not sure if this was properly submitted the first time. I apologize if it's a duplicate.

The story continues to be good, but this last chapter concerns me. It reminds me too much of "Unsung Hero", in that Harry is dating a girl, she claims to love him, goes home for Christmas, and then does a 180 and breaks up with him. That story then dragged out that break up for over half the story, and had a terrible ending. So I'm hoping this is not like that story, and that this Daphne situation is resolved quickly.Author's response
- I'm not familiar with "Unsung Hero" A movie?
- The story is winding down, but I don't know how terrible it is...Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Nice done and polished and I like the final version.
I rather suspect that Daphne's note was forced by her father; I do hope she's able to straighten matters out when she returns to Hogwarts. If she doesn't return, I'm willing to bet Harry talks things over with Tracey and may mount a rescue raid (Daphne's father may end up really regretting his actions).
I thought Mr. Granger and Harry discussing Justin was a nice bit of support and I loved the way Harry described his feelings about her.Author's response
- Thank you
- I can't reveal much without exposing my plot... But consider the power of a head of house...

Well that was unexpected. I do hope we eventually find out the true reason for Daphne's breaking up with Harry. I will be interested to see if the relationship is resurected or if Harry moves on. Harry does not forgive betrayal easily; if he sees her actions in that light I think they will be done. I expect that Harry will get his pound of flesh from Dumbledore eventually. Thanks for writing. Looks like Harry has a little seer blood in him since he anticipated things falling apart. Can't say I understand how he could give up so easily, and I doubt Daphne wrote the note of her normal free will.
I have to say, I'm going to be most displeased with you if Daphne ends up under some potion/compulsion with someone else, as you did to Hermione in 'Acts' (attempts to mimic Harry Potter glare). It would be best for your health if she was returned to him unharmed.. (puts some extra ice into the glare). :)
It's good to see that Harry has optons if Daphne doesn't work out, though I can't see this becoming a Harry/multiple fic given Daphne's original 'I don't share' comments. You've certainly stirred the pot a little by having her invite Tracey after the concert, but I think that was just teasing. Still, I'm not going to complain if you add Luna, Tonks, &/or Susan to the mix.. Looks like Hermione is sorted with Justin, else I'd include her as well.
Good story Clell, and I like the way it's gone so far. I kinda hope you've got the 'gotta include some sexual abuse/manipulation' out of your system already with Ron's treatment of Hermione. I hope there isn't any more to come..
Author's response
- Not that much seer blood. Given Harry's life, predicting that everything would go to crap is a lot like predicting that it will get dark at night...
- No potions...
- It won't be a multi. The Daphne/Tracey conversation was just teasing
- No more sexual abuse (unless both parties agree before hand and have a safety word) I promise.Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Too bad about Daphne, I liked her and Harry together. I'd like him better with Tonks, but He and Daph clicked. I'm curious as to just how big a part her pops played in that.Author's response
- Tonks is on the order of seven years older than Harry... That won't make much of a difference when he's 30 and she's a youthful vivacious 29, but for now she'd feel like a child molester...
- Daddy Greengrass may have played a role in the break up...
