Good part. And killing your enemy may be hard, but burying your loved ones is harder.

Many thanks for the chapter! I hope that your and your sister can work out the finacial problems soon....... Harry and Dobby did a wonderful job at Ollivander's shop, and I'm glad that the dragons got their snack! As always, seeing Harry and goblins together is wonderful. It was also good to see Michael Wood treating the goblins with respect. The talk between Harry and Ollivander was also interesting, and I enjoyed the tie you created between the Pottverse and Middle Earth! I love the Lord of the Rings! Are Aragog and his family descendants of Shelob? Hmmmmmm..... it seems like Voldy and his new best friend just can't get enough of each other....... (whistles) Is Nagini considering dumping the nutcase already, or will she just start planning for a quick getaway if needed? It seems that both would be "Masters of the Universe" will lose their familiars soon. It looks as though Snape's life has become very interesting. How long before he starts complaining to Dumbles that the other students are being given points for breathing? Will Dumbles even care about that right now, or will he be too intent on his reputation? The scene with Ableforth was great; laughter is good for both one's health and one's soul. The Dusleys are getting their well earned dues; but Dudley at least might actually improved. It will also benefit other students if the little pack of bullies and the teacher who supported them are dealt with properly. Corolyn is definately a lawyer to reckon with! As for Ron, Earnie, and Seamus I'm glad that Harry gave them the necessary talking-to. Hermione's talk with him afterwards was just right; reminding him that while he had a great resposibility he also had friends and family to support him. As always, your chapter was filled with a mix of the serious and the amusing and left me looking forward to the next! :)Author's response
Heya Teresa!
Thanks for your thoughts. We will work to settle this debt, and then we're done.
The saber action was necessary to rescue Ollivander, and so, I tried to portray it as it would have happened in a real battle.
Dragons: Well, the Deez were just lying there. It would be a shame to see a perfectly good meal go to waste, wouldn't it?
Harry/Goblins/Michael: I'd imagine Michael isn't as stupid as most of the wizards. He offered his respect because he understood that true respect is mutual. Graswold was willing to meet him half way, and Harry started the whole thing off.
The tie-in with LoTR, was unintentional. I was looking for 'high elves' and this was the best match I could find. but I did need a viable ancestry for Ollivander. Since elves are involved, I can see the high elves being revered by the lower forms of that species.
My other choice was Lestat, or someone like him..
Voldy and his best friend: (Sings off key)"OH ho ho, you and me, little brown jug, how I love thee...!"
Nagini has a well developed sense of self-preservation. She'll be using it. Besides, I need to subvert her. BWAHAHAHAHA!
As for the other 'Master'. he's already lost his. Fawkes is just playing a role...and spying on Ol' Twinkles.
Snape: He doesn't have much chance of that, as Minerva has taken over the running of Hogwarts. Any complaint he gives will go to her. Oops! Round file!
Dumbledore's far too busy to be worried about the minutiae of running a school. After all, he has his public image to reconstruct.
Abe is far too unused. He needs a life.
Vernon and Petunia: I figure the wost punishment they can have is a public humiliation, that never ends.
Dudley: I had a brother who was very much like him. That brother died alone in prison, for something that he was trained and conditioned to do...by my father.
I've given Dudley a hefty dose of reality, and a chance to turn things around. Being on the receiving end of the bullying he used to force on Harry (and the other neighborhood kids) is a harsh lesson, but really, it's the same as I'm doing to his parents. He's only dealing with it better. Being nearly killed...or worse, and having the person he so despised, save his life would tend to do that, I think.
Branck is a walk-on, character. We may see him later, but I doubt it.
Carolyn is a lot of fun to write. she's absolutely ruthless in court, and carries out her legal duties with the same ruthless precision.
The slackers: I'm going to reform them, but I already have things written for each.
~~Hermione's talk with him afterwards was just right; reminding him that while he had a great resposibility he also had friends and family to support him.~~
Thanks especially for this. As I said to Zamia, any good leader worries. It's the ones who think they have everything under control, you have to be careful around.
Hermione's support, along with that of several other people, most notably Luna, will help to keep him from sinking to self-doubt.

Excellent chapter. You draw all the myriad story arcs together with considerable skill, producing a most readable, exciting fic.
I am always happy to see an update from you, as I know it will be a quality read.Author's response
Thank yeeewww! It's one of the toughest things to make sure all the arcs inter-mesh. In didn't want any of the characters to feel left out.
They know where I live.

i like the story so far.
on a side note
Uw huisaelf kunnen mijn goederen aan veiligheid nemen”. (Your house-elves may take my goods to safety.)
it's actually" U huiselven kunnen mijn goederen in veiligheid brengen "
Author's response
Thank you, Peanutz.
I mentioned in the Authors notes that I did not speak Dutch, though I do speak a modicum of German and 'brengen' does sound more accurate than 'nemen'.

Like in the 2nd Trilogy there could be potential Siths within the Jedi and seeing that the trio of Ron, Shamus & Ernie could go that way is the norm given the various stories from the SW books series showing just that!
Good to make them Padawan of sorts here but I think they need to get their arses handed to them by smaller petite and female Jedi's to push the idea of what it IS to be Jedi! Also use the threat of family members being injured is another modivation. Though that has to be handled properly as I remember the Jedi Council were to Arrogant (Like Dumbles) to see things happening before it was too late.
I suggest Ollivander could become a sage of sorts given his age and experience!
So far Wish TPTB would use this as a kick ass Film Trilogy crossover!
(I wish!!!)

Author's response
I really have no intention of turning them Sith. I just wanted to bring up the thought that Ron -could- become a Sith. Ron's problem is he's lazy, jealous and temper-prone...all the things Anakin was. His canon character is, in fact, exactly what spymaster's look for when recruiting.
Here, I've tried to keep Ron as more like he was in the first three books. I've made him a little more mature, a little more intuitive and more loyal. He understands that his family is at risk, from whatever source, and will honestly do his best to prevent any harm from coming to them. He will still be Ron, though, with all his failings.
Ernie's is that he's a pompous, overbearing ass. He'll be getting in trouble for that...and other things, soon.
And Seamus listens to much to other people's opinions. (Remember book five?) and will have to be taught the error of his ways.
You're right, The Jedi council was arrogant as hell. Unfortunately when they thought of the prophecy, they thought it meant the light side would win, when actually 'balance' means 'equal'. "A master and an apprentice...no more, no less."
Ollivander will be a walk-on a couple of times, and will offer advise now and again, but for the most part, he will be observing and making his wands.
TPTB would never consider it. it would be too hard to compress it into a one hour and fourty minute movie.
(Le sigh!)

Your story is incredible, you, like Harry, seem to be a master of many trades, Military, Photography, Literature and DO women count as a trade? Guess they are difficult enough.
In any case, you rock, your stories rock and I hope you win the case with your sister.
Regards, AaronAuthor's response
Thank you, sargeantaaron. I'm glad you're enjoying the show.
I do seem to have picked up an inordinate number of skills in my life. Since I can no longer carry ninety or a hundred pounds of lumber at a time, I'm retraining myself to be a Luthier.
Erm, women were a hobby. I studied hard, though.
If the collections agency can accept the amount we send, without demanding nine times more, we'll be happy.

Hey nice chapter and I too think your ideal on ollivander is a good one about his heritage and age.... the work out and obstacle course was cool....
as for the bill collectors tell your sister all they really want is their money, if you tell them you cant make the mimimum payment but can send them say 50 or 100 dollars a month then they will usually work with you, cause basically they just want to get thier money and any money is better than no money, but you also have to make the payments every month or else....Author's response
Heya Jabarber!
Ollivander -has- to be a mix of some sort, and I had the choice of high elf, or ancient vampyre.
I honestly miss that O Course. I was twenty then, and had a six-pac. now, I'm fifty and have a keg.
We paid and paid until there was nothing left and they continued to demand more. When we met their attorney, we told him we wanted to work this out, but simply couldn't meet their demands. He told us that he'd see if he could get them to accept the offered amount and leave us alone. At least they can't take the house.

Interesting to see whether Ollivander has anything to teach Harry. Hopefully Harry's close friends can keep him from his doubts. He should get rid of the three slackers before they can do any damage. Good chapter. Cheers.
ZAuthor's response
Heya Zamia.
Everyone has things to teach. It only takes someone willing to learn.
Every good commander has doubts. It's the ones who don't, that you have to watch out for. Harry's upbringing is a huge part of his uncertainty, and it will be Hermione's support (and Luna's) that will help him through those times of anxiety.
The three slackers: He can't. First, their lack of performance is due to laziness. They -knew- they weren't being watched, and so like most students, they skivved off. Harry's 'discussion' has opened their eyes to the error in their logic. They can be 're-motivated'. Second, I have some things in store for each of them
Until next time.
